I don't know if they are truly capitive pets, but we saw this one at the summit of Mt Howard in the Wallowa Lake area. It has the body of a fat little hamster (with no tail), the head of a rabbit, big round ears, and he lets out a loud 'chirp' of a yelp. They are a Lagomorph, which is a relative of the rabbits and hares. He was too cute not to share."... Lee
