2 | An adult male American Alligator can reach up to almost 15 feet in length, though there is one specimen that reportedly grew to over 19 feet. These large lizards move slowly on land, but are quite quick in the water. They live in wetlands and feed on aquatic animals as well as mammals and birds. They have the strongest bite of any living animal. Submitted courtesy David Brough.
