1 | The Yonahlossee Salamander is one of the largest and best known salamanders in southeast American. They have a distinct rust colored body that is spotted as a juvenile. They have a wide range, found in areas of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. They are usually found in deciduous forests near rotten wood or rocky debris, but have also been found near wet springs, and in open pastures. Submitted courtesy Ken Childs.
